Produced over the course of two years, Gannochy demonstrates Mark Christensen’s transition from folk/guitar music to instrumental soundtrack music. After the release of his previous album, The Ontologist, Mark vowed never again to make music and instead focus on his writing.
But months later when he was playing on the piano and came up with the notes for Ehrengraber, he was inspired to compose more songs. These songs are meant to be enjoyed when sitting on the bus, studying, or while doing any other activity that supports deep, intense thought.
With so many artists out there making great music, it’s basically a pipe dream nowadays to think that making music will provide any sort of financial benefit. Therefore, I have made the music available to enjoy for free on Youtube, as well as other streaming services like Spotify. I put a tremendous amount of effort and time into making the album, and I can only be compensated for that by knowing that people are enjoying the music.
Like many artists who are destined to die poor, I do it not for the money, but because I am driven to create in my very being.
If you would like to encourage me to make more music, please let me know how you like the songs, and even consider buying the album. Thank you!
