In 2012 Mark Christensen visited the small Slovak coutryside town of Myjava to teach English at a gymnazium (high school).
He enjoyed this cultural experience so much that he wrote a song using the words and phrases that his students had taught him. The song is called “Deväť“, which means “Nine” in Slovak.
Mark later returned home to California, and after a few months the song suddenly went viral throughout all of Slovakia. After recieving a lot of press attention, he returned to Slovakia, where he remained for several years creating more music and working for the country’s main press agency as an editor and newsreader. Mark has since released two albums, now available on Spotify, Amazon, and iTunes.
